Volunteer with SARA
The SARA society is entirely staffed by dedicated and caring
volunteers. Our valued volunteers include students, retirees, mentally
challenged people, and animal lovers from all walks of life. We
believe that each one makes a remarkable contribution and benefits in
return from the unqualified love of our homeless animal friends and
also from the satisfaction that they have helped to save a life.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us in many different
areas. If you would like to volunteer please give the SARA Line a call
at 604-580-8254. Some of the volunteering opportunities are:
→ Cat care and processing
adoptions at the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center located at PETsMART in
Surrey. Volunteer duties include cleaning the cages and providing food
and water, talking to the public, and processing adoptions.
Volunteering hours are handled in two hour shifts during store hours
(or more if requested). Training is provided.
→ Driver's with a valid driver's
license to pick-up and drop-off animals to and from the shelter,
veterinarian hospital, and/or PETsMART.
→ Fostering for our cats, kittens
or dogs in need of a foster home.
→ Carpentry/Handyman skills to
help with repairs at the SARA Society shelter.
