Where is the shelter located?
The shelter is located in Surrey, BC. However, it is not open to the public. It is a private home that has been renovated to hold the shelter and it's 100+ animals.

Where can I send a donation?
Donations can be made at the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center located at PETsMART, or by calling the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 for more information.

Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes. Donations of $10.00 or more will receive a tax receipt in the mail. Please be sure to include your name and mailing address with your donation.

I have a pet I need to find a new home for. Can you help?
Yes, we can. We accept surrendered and abandoned animals of all kinds. Please contact us by calling the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 for more information.
 


Adopting

I'm interested in adopting. Where can I view your adoptable animals?
You can check our website for updates on adoptable animals, or come visit the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center located at PETsMART in Surrey. You can also call the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 and let us know exactly what you're looking for, since we always have more adoptable animals at the shelter not yet featured on the site or available for viewing at the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center.

What is the adoption fee for cats and dogs?
Prices will vary depending on age and breed. Please call the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 for current adoption fees.

What does the adoption fee include?
The adoption fee includes 1st vaccine, deworming, spaying/neutering, tattoo, cardboard pet carrier for cats and collar and leash for dogs, and a free veterinarian check.

What other animals do you currently have up for adoption besides cats and dogs?
We usually always have a small selection of rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or birds available for adoption. Please contact the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 for more information or check our website for updates.

Do you have a return policy?
Yes. If it does not work out with your new pet, you may return the animal for a full refund within 15 days from the date of adoption, and a partial refund minus $10 to cover administrative fees within 30 days from date of adoption. Animals may be returned at anytime, however refunds will only be honoured within 30 days from date of adoption.

Where do I return the adopted animal?
Returns are accepted at Delta Animal Hospital located in Delta. Please contact the hospital at 604-596-8252 to arrange a drop-off time. Please also include all original paperwork.

Are returns accepted at PETsMART?
No. Returns are not accepted at PETsMART. Please contact Delta Animal Hospital or the SARA Line at 604-580-8254 for more information.


Volunteering

I would like to volunteer for the SARA Society. Who do I contact?
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the S.A.R.A. Line at 604-580-8254.

How can I get involved?
We are currently looking for dedicated volunteers to help with our cat care and adoptions at the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center located at PETsMART in Surrey. We are also looking for foster homes and driver's to transport our animals to and from the shelter, veterinarian hospital and/or at PETsMART.

Do you offer any training prior to volunteering?
Yes, we do. Volunteers interested in volunteering at the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center meet with a volunteer trainer at PETsMART and go over all the required information such as volunteer duties and adoption procedures.

Where is PETsMART located?
PETsMART is located at 12101 72nd Ave. in Surrey near Scottsdale Mall.
